TWITTER USER STEVE H. MCFLY (@OnLeaks) has teamed up with 91mobiles to bring the world a Huawei P30 leak comprising 3D renders and a 360 degree video showcasing the device. This is our first look at a new Huawei smartphone since the Chinese tech giant unveiled the Mate 20 Pro.
The renders showcase the phone’s three camera setup, which, similar to the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, will be aligned vertically. This is a step away from the square block of lenses on the Mate 20 Pro. However, Huawei seem to have decided that the textured finish on the back of the Mate 20 Pro was a good move, and have incorporated it into the P30. The phone will also apparently come with a gradient of colours, similar to the P20 Pro upon release.
The Huawei P30 brings back an old friend…
Readers, raise your champagne glasses and prepare to celebrate…
The Huawei P30 leak seems to suggest that there will be a 3.5mm headphone jack on the underside of the phone. Yes, that’s right, Jack has returned to the party! It’s unclear as of yet why Huawei would opt for this change, especially since it seems they have had to remove a speaker from the bottom of the device. Still, let’s focus on the positives and dig out our dusty ol’ cans to listen to top notch tunes.
Unfortunately, it looks as if the Huawei P30 is going to have a forehead and a chin, though the waterdrop-style notch is certainly preferable to the abomination of a cut-out on some phones like the iPhone X. If you look really closely you can even see that the bottom of the phone looks like it’s been shaved a little. It’s completely flat. Again, this is an odd design choice that might make the device feel a bit boxy, but we’re curious about what’s yet to come.
Like the Mate 20 Pro, the fingerprint scanner for the Huawei P30 appears to be hidden underneath the screen – a welcome sight for those of us who treasure a good screen-to-body ratio but hate scanning in on the back of the phone.
The techie specs…
The leak claims that the screen with be 6in corner-to-corner, so it’ll be great for multimedia and so on. As far as camera specs go, rumours suggest we’ll be looking at a 38MP RGB sensor developed by Sony on the back of the camera. The front-facing camera will allegedly be 24MP.
We can reasonably expect the Huawei P30 to run on the newest Hisilicon Kirin 980 processor and have 6GB or 8GB of RAM, paired with 128GB and 256GB storage respectively. It’s also likely that it will run on Android Pie out of the box with an EMUI 9.0 skin on top.
Whatever comes of all of this, we at Bluefire are excited to see the unveiling of the Huawei P30 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. All we know is that this month will be leaky and exciting, so why not check out the recent leak of the Samsung Galaxy S10 expected to release soon?
